Canteen

We now have a new catering provider for the school.  Olive Dining has a proven track record of excellence and already provides great food and great service at other schools in the Community Schools Trust.  Olive Dining will provide a more varied and flexible offer for our students and we are confident that parents, students and staff will be very pleased with the changes. 

The biometric system is much more sophisticated and has ensured parents are only charged for what is eaten by their child. For example, the school Meal Deal is £2.85 and break time snacks/food cost between 80p and £1.80. 

This system has improved the services we are able to offer students and staff significantly, with benefits including:

• Reduction in queuing times
• Reduction in administration time and costs
• The ability to purchase individual items rather than only a set meal
• Effective linkage to the ParentMail accounts parents already have set up 
• Specific food allergy ingredients can be barred automatically
• Healthy eating is encouraged
• Automatic free meal allocation with the students remaining anonymous
• Parents are charged ONLY for the food that students eat each day

The school uses the ParentMail system for the payment of school meals.  All parents are set up with an account with ParentMail and this allows for a cashless and safe system for purchasing lunches and other items.  There is a link to the ParentMail system on the Quick Links menu in the header of the website.  If you need any assistance with your ParentMail account please email info@watersidecst.org

All students are expected to have a school lunch or bring in a healthy pack lunch

• Parents should top up money for lunch using ParentMail. Log on details are available from info@watersideacademy.org
• Students who are entitled to free school meals will be automatically topped up.
• The school lunch meal deal costs students £2.85 per day.
• All students, including students entitled to a free school meal, who wish to purchase a break time snack should top up using school money
• Any student who does not have sufficient funds can be issued on one occasion with a lunch pass. They should speak to the school receptionist about this. The receptionist will contact parents to inform them a pass has been issued. Parents are expected to top up funds, including payment of the lunch pass within 24 hours.  Any parent who has a problem paying for school lunches should contact the Family Support Worker to discuss this
• Each day there will be a wide range of food options, catering for all dietary requirements
• If a student has allergies or intolerances, their parent or carer should contact the Family Support Worker to discuss them and provide any medical evidence. An appointment will be set up with the chef for parents to discuss where relevant.
