Why do you have to study Triple Science?

Studying science is vital to understanding the world we live in. The triple science course gives students in depth knowledge in each of the three sciences; biology, chemistry and physics. This means students will have the opportunity to explore careers such as medicine and veterinary science. There are a number of compulsory core practical’s across the three sciences that will be delivered through the three year course. We use the AQA specifications.

Triple science has 50% more content than combined science and is extremely challenging. Although it may appear to be similar in terms of chapters as combined science, the content goes into greater depth.

How will I be examined?

Triple science is a linear course and you will be assessed at the end of the three year course by sitting a series of six papers each lasting 1hr 45mins, which will lead to separate qualifications in biology, chemistry and physics.

There is no longer any course work, however, you will be expected to recall information on the core practicals within the exams themselves.
